I've been using the A100 for a year now and continue to be impressed. I went on a nature hike this morning and saw a vast range of animals (for Oklahoma). As always C&C welcomed.
I was surprised by the IQ on these.

Haven't identified this woodpecker yet, I think it is a Red Headed something.

I found the woodpecker because I was trying to track the beaver that did this to the tree. They are not common in my area and I was surprised to see the tree like this with fresh scat or poop around it.

Then to my amazement I found a porky pine by a tree and began to sneak in for better angles... after slowly doing this and getting some good shots, I found out it was dead. But, the effort was there lol and the pictures look like it is just lounging.

Then I saw something funny going on behind me. Love was in the air.

The nature walk was winding down, but not before I had some pretty ladies model for me.

A nice series. Wasn't there a song that had a line, "Why don't we do it in a tree?" Now I know where that came from :)

Nice variety of shots!

You certainly have a better winter down in Oklahoma than we have up North! ;)

Keep on shooting. It makes me think of Spring.

What a great (and lucky) walk! The bird is a red-bellied woodpecker.

Thanks, I take my kids with me and we do the picture then go home and identify thing, but this time I couldn't find the type of bird.

Very nice shots.

I too for some reason have been using the A100 a lot lately - perhaps it seems a more genteel camera than my A550.

Thank you, I use it because it's all I have, currently saving up for the A77 kit and will hopefully have it by the end of Feb. I love the A100 and will continue to use it but the A77 should be a lot better for low light and I enjoy astrophotography as well so I'm pretty excited! Will continue to use the Minolta lens though.

For astrophotography one really needs the main sensor Live View for quick and easy focusing, which I do with my A550. It's much trickier with the A100. It should be a breeze on the A77.

Then again, one chap at my local astronomical society made do with a NEX camera, where he "washed" off the IR filter from the sensor. He took a series of photos, made a movie out of them, won an international astrphotography competition with it, was flown to the Canary Islands for the presentation and got to use the big telescope there for a night, and has pictures of himself with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin at the dinner.

That's pretty good going for a NEX!
Cheers,
Renato

NEXt thing you know.....

A very impressive story - would have loved to be him, meeting those guys!
Yes, I think that there would be several score thousand astrophotographers who would be green with envy, given the modest equipment he used.
