hello!

i am using a canon g7 for long time lapse sequences.
for that i am using the canon remote capture software.

however with the purchase of a new mac i am forced to use lion, which does not support ppc code anymore.

is there any option out there?

otherwise i have to think about buying an old laptop just for the use of that software, which seems a little odd and uncomfortable.

thanks for all tips!

If you can't wait, perhaps Boot Camp/Parallels/VMWare Fusion and a copy of Windows will do. If not, Apple's Aperture 3.x might support your camera for tethering. I would guess the three months is a goal of Canon's to support Lion and the Intel platform. Might take longer.

You can also tether with Lightroom, but the issue with all this software is if you want automatic time lapse for your work they don't all have that as a tethering feature. If you have another way of controlling the time lapse part, then OK.

Take a look at http://boinx.com/istopmotion/overview/

I haven't tried it for time lapse but it might do what you want. They have a free trial,

Peter
