Sorry Sony, But Your May Be Loosing A Customer:

I can understand not using the search function but not using your own eyes?

(there are at least 2 other threads about this camera on the first page of this very forum)

You are still going to be a Sony customer indirectly as it looks like that camera will be using a Sony sensor.

Why is it that nobody can spell "losing" correctly. I know I know it's an anal nitpick, but I notice it every day all over the boards...

Just like the "Ziess" vs "Zeiss" thread lol...

For the record: It's "losing", not "loosing"

you can "lose" a customer, not "loose" it. Your shoelace can be "loose" however. So can you, but that's another story LOL...

Sorry... I feel better now..

end rant.... :)

I think both cameras will do very well.

Not everyone is going to be looking for that retro look and the NEX7 is actually smaller and has some features that the Fuji doesnt such as the flip LCD. Im pretty sure the video capabilities of the Sony will be better as well.

And as someone mentioned, the xpro will be using a Sony sensor.

I am now hoping my pre-ordered NEX-7 does not arrive unil I hear more about this camera, the Fuji X Pro 1.

I was gonna say it but I'm glad you did - because I think it's the most misspelled word of all time!! Drives me crazy! Grrr

The most mis-spelled word in these forums is "lense" for lens.

Generally, I think wrong spellings of Fluorescent are the most common.

I know its hard for the addicts whose chains gets jerked every time some new hot tech product gets announced. But, it could be a good idea to wait a while to see how well all the different features of these new cameras work out in extended use. With super equipment like the Nex C3 and the Sony e 16 f2.8 in hand, it will be very easy for me to wait for the second or third release of the newer cameras before deciding if one of them is worth a new committment.

Luckily mine has arrived and no Fuji can really get me excited.

FED-S (my father's) > Canon AE1 (my brother's) > Minolta Maxxum 3xi (my first precious) > Minolta Dynax 400si (hello Canada) > Minolta Dimage 7i (darling) > Konica Minolta 5D (first DSLR) > Sony Alpha A100 (killer baby) > Sony Alpha A700 (serious tool) > Canon 5DMkII (weird computer with average lenses) > Back to A700 (reassured about the greatness) + A900 (depth of colours and pixels)

I'm kind of glad I'm not really looking forward to the new fuji. After playing around with the X100, there wasn't much I liked about it other than the awesome IQ. I thought I would like the retro look, I still do, but the sleek nex-7 looks so much better. Classic vs. modern. I'll be settling in with my 7 thank you =]

There's always going to be a new better model coming out, you might as well not buy any camera at all since the next one will be even better lol

Oh my god you took the words right out of my mouth. I think this guy may just want to be starting another pointless argument on a camera that isn't even confirmed yet. Wait until next Tuesday before you start changing your mind on getting the X-Pro. It is supposed to be announced then at CES.

and the worst is 'len', which would be the singular of the plural 'lens' :(

BTW: I remember someone once writing about 'breasteses', but he may have been a bit hot under the collar.

thank you - I am always amazed by the number of people that are so hung up on the gear that they always have to have the latest and greatest.

I actually tend to only buy cameras that have been out for at least a year, heck I bought my D200 after the D300 came out and I bought my NEX-5 about a month before the 5N came out. I like products that have tested by others first :)

I don't think the OP yet has a 7. Now he can cancel his 7 pre-order and pre-order an X-1... then, while waiting for the X-1, Sony will announce the 7N... so, cancel the X-1 pre-order to order the 7N.

This sounds like a great cycle. You can continously be excited and superior about the next great camera you're going to get, without ever having to actually buy one.

Nex-7 with kit lenses, Contax G 35, and a number of legacy lenses (mostly Canon FD)

I wonder if this camera will accept old MF lenses. Anyone care to guess? No tilting LCD is a big bummer for me--I shoot top down 99 percent of the time.

If I can't mount my FDns on it, no sale.

Considering the delay of the nex-7 and the x-1 pro expected (rumoured) date of March, it would not be a cycle for him. Unless, of course, this Tues, Sony does announce a new nex :).
I wouldn't be surprised if they did just to fend of Fuji x-1 pro losses.
But then they'd hurt their nex-7 sales.
All this marketing thought hurts my brain.
Order BOTH.
They will prob. arrive around the same time.

Keep the one you like best as the other will EASILY be returnable or an easy sell since, given these camera's track records, are a hot ticket.
