Umm... all that space isn't dedicated for cameras. Sony does have other consumer electronics that are pretty popular out thereCheck Sony's floor space compare to Canon and Nikon! It is huge!

Yeah, it has to be. All those bravia TVs, other AV gear you can just imagine. You have to compare Sony's booth with Samsung or LG. Afterall, how big is the alpha business to overall Sony's business. It could be smaller as compared to AV. BY the way, are you affiliated to Sony in any way? Just curiousCheck Sony's floor space compare to Canon and Nikon! It is huge!

... may mean not much Alpha stuff on that (huge!) booth. Just guessing ... and continuing to guess:
With 2012 being Photokina year and the year after the Thailand flood, the Nippon tsunami and the sort-off still unfinished release of the a65, a77 and Nex7, CES January 2012 may be more than just a bit early for major new Alpha announcements.
My guess is as good as anybody elses.

Based on the fact that you're able to get into the convention hall, it would indicate that you work in the electronic industry, or are part of the construction crew. If you're not part of the construction crew, based on my experience in attending CES, only people with 'exhibitor' badges (or people who belong to the union who construct the booths) are allowed into the hall this far in advance of the show. The companies usually use their own people to put products on display.
However, the third picture showing the crates, shows warehouse racks in the background. I don't recall seeing this type of warehouse racks at CES. I think that picture was taken at the Sony warehouse prior to the crates were shipped to CES.
If the crates are at the Sony warehouse, it would indicate that you work for Sony.
No wonder you're such a Fanboy.

If you aks me, they have to do something really drammatic to turn around that business. They have really lost it to the Korean giants. Complacency was the problem with Sony. Look at their high end TVs, the HXs, they really offer little calibration controls for the people who would love to have those kind of Tvs. I fSony offered this, I would have bought one. Then look at Samsung and LG, they offer a lot for less. In addition the LCD business is laready saturated so the competiton will be tough. Unless Sony reduce the prices they demand for their products, there is only direction for that business. You want a clue: PhilipsJust a customer of Sony! I thought they were going to cut down with their expenses due to the big losses the past 3 years but I don't see them slowing down...

Well congrats on another web research, BMWX5. For a moment you had me thinking you were closer to the matter than just the usual Google results.... may mean not much Alpha stuff on that (huge!) booth. Just guessing ... and continuing to guess:
