LX6 soon?

Let it have 24-120 F1.8-8 lens...
You want that on a 1" sensor, huh?

That's fine. Such a camera can be built.

But you do realise it cannot be the size of an LX5, don't you? The camera you describe would need to be rather bigger than a small dSLR....much bigger than any of the so-called "bridge" cameras out there at present....

Small cameras have the sensor and lens specifications that they have, in order to BE small cameras.

Yes would like LX6 if it goes towards S100 size albeit with more conservative specs like 28-90mm with F2.0-3.0 lens
That is not a more conservative spec, at all. It more demanding, and would be bigger in the lens, not smaller. If the lens is bigger the whole camera package is bigger.

Gee, I was a bit bothered! New LX5?? I have just ordered one, and to see it replaced so soon would be a blow!
At least let me take delivery!
The Sony sounds nice, but not quite up to scratch?
Take care

Canon just came out with the S100 which appears to trump the LX5.
I must disagree with that statement.
I bought an S100 to replace my LX5 and ended up selling the S100

Biggest reason for me was the S100 was a lot slower to focus in lowlight while zoomed in. Images also appeared slighty flat compared to the LX5

it all depends on what you need the camera for, if it's size alone, the S100 wins.

Hopefully the LX6? stays similar to the LX5 with a new sensor. Ssmaller is ok as long as the lens is just as fast, but it definitely can't be larger though.
(hey, put the S100 sensor in the LX5 and that would probably be pretty awesome)

Ok. Then may be F2.0-F3.5 & long end at 75mm is fine like old film cams. Something like this is welcome but with current tech, it will be a blast.
