WTF?? (image stolen)

( Just wait till you discover meme generator. Your head will explode. )

As a practical matter, if you post an image to the Internet, people will use it.

This is true.. but this is a site using my image.. storing it on there servers.. allowing people to deface it and also emailing them a link to the image too.

This goes far beyond people sharing the image and stuff... no?

This is blatant theft and there should be something you can do, maybe you should consult and attorney or is it barrister in the UK. Good luck and I hope you can do something to stop this.

Get all the money you can!!! it may pay for your gear purchases for the next year :)

Hi Meuh,

send an email to Cheezburger Inc., I thingk they will take down the image within a day or two.

This is indeed a misuse of copyrighted material. So complain about it.

Have a nice Christmas
and please don't stop posting your pictures here, they are wonderful

Albert

Go there an make a poster like they are allowing anyone to do. I just put a caption on the picture that it is stolen.....heh. See if they take it down.

We can all go there a post a stolen note on the picture....see if they get the idea....heh.

You dont even have to sign in...just use their little onscreen app to edit in your own caption.....

Can't wait to see it backfire when the internet gets a hold of it.

I do a lot of geotagging through panoramio.com which eventually allows the pictures to make it to Goggle Earth. I know they own the rights to the picture, but not the ones that are the native file size...lol. I get people contacting me all the time, do you have that in the native size? We would like to purchase it from you, how much? Put your stuff out their, but in sample size, not full portions. I hardly ever put a picture above 1,500 lines of horizontal resolution and for the most part keep it at 1,000-1,200 and compress the file a little to keep the size down...usually a 9 out of 12 with CS4. Don't be overly protective either of your images and put them so small that your viewers can't see more than a large thumbnail. 1,000 lines of horizontal res. is perfect. People that want to steel it want it for enlargements not thumbnails. But if it is really nice, go no more than 800 on the hor. Res. I've never had a problem with this strategy.

There are a number of professional quality wildlife images on the cheezeburger site, they are probably all stolen.

whoever stole it, it was very likely not the website. Send the website a take down notice.

Actually, you were probably doing an image search by dragging on of your images into the search field in Google "Images" and found that another website was using it. It's common. Welcome to the Internet.
I was just messing about on google and found this...

Going out to a friends for dinner so leaving this with you all... no idea what to do lol

Thank you for that.. without your expert knowledge I would never have known what I myself was doing while at my pc. I was dragging images onto goggle who doesn't at times?

While it might be common for things on the net to be taken.. used.. and abused it doesn't make it right, and it also feels pretty shitty knowing others are in some way making money from my images and I am not.

I don't get why you even bother to post in my threads as you obviously don't like me, but each to there own.. enjoy Christmas if that is something you take part in.

If it goes to court you will win if you can produce the RAW file.
