You really are becoming the pain in my ass.
Was it too much trouble to email me and talk about what you think rather than filling the forums with splurious messages linking to other messages??? Do you think this helps newbies who come in and think "what's all this.. dead forum.. I won't come here again"
You're a dis-service to these forums, and as I've warned you in the past unless you start being more helpful and less obviously annoying and dropping flame bait all over other forums you'll be BANNED... AGAIN.

Phil,
The changes that you made make perfect sense to me. IMO you should leave everything as is. The board now makes more sense and I agree there was no real reason to have a news board and a digital camera board, especially when there are places for all of the majors. I think the "other Digicams" was a great idea. Keep up the good work. Even though I purchased my cam months ago, I come to your forums 4-5 times a day (I work at the NBA and we are off-season, so I have some time!). I wouldn't let Frances get to you.

Phil, DO IT! Do the whole forum a favor, I only come in here once or twice a day at most, to learn, and I find him annoying, I can't imagine how irritating the regs find him to be. I told you back when he and I used to go at it, he gets off on it. NOBODY will miss him, not even his fellow Nikonfanatics, they don't even defend him anymore. He very rarely makes any sort of post meant to help or educate others, simply flames and whining.

To maintain an aura of greatness and infallibility, it is necessary to be inscrutable and to appear utterly detached. The Greek gods, for example, spoke only through oracles, who were pretty mysterious themselves. I don't think they would have been well-served by replying to an irritating mortal by posting a message saying "You're a pain in the ass." They would have sat silently and mysteriously, right up to the instant a thunderbolt reduced Frances to a cinder.

As a person who has frequented this forum for about a month, reading more than writing, I would hope there is a more peaceful way to settle this.
Is Frances a pain in the ass?
Most assuredly.
He turned me off the Nikon forum (and quite possibly Nikon cameras....who wants to associate with an ass?).
And probably the most annoying trait is trolling the Sony forum trying to start something. Most (but again, not all) Nikonites realize that both companies make fine, but very different, cameras.
Never (or at least rarely) contributing, just making asanine remarks to, and
about, other, more serious posters.

Now what to do about it?
Well how about just asking that he refrain from the inflamatory language?
Frances, couldn't you have posted a question rather than make a statement?
Couldn't you have just asked Phil to reconsider, because in your opinion he was wrong?

As to the "not reading if you don't like it" stuff......I didn't join this forum to not read it. I have gained much knowledge by reading the long, acedemic dissertaions on this board. In most cases the posters did not totally agree, but shared their point of view in a very professional manner.

As a newbie, I suggest not "disbarring" Frances.

It is true he often posts without sufficient thought but he seems to me good hearted. So Phil, please don't banish him. Although it is sort of outrageous for any of us to ever give you a hard time.
And Frances, don't annoy people, there's no need for that. You take splendid pictures and you have a wealth of useful information - so you can get lots of a better kind of attention.

have been following this page more than a year. learned a lot. and amused also. and have started my digi carrier. not a proff. but being old slr photographer, have my own way to adapt new tech.
Phil seems to be one of those good guys. would offer him finnish sauna and some local moonshine, if possible. he has good site, good comments, and he is extremely logical. somebody does not have to think in the same way than you, but to be able to think in the same way than him/herself all the time, then you can trust him/her.
have some experience about almost everything. now including some digi cameras also. and think. that is somehow childish to claim, that my brand is the onlyone. there is not any perfect yet. and all needs are unique. that is also something that I think that Phil has been able to tell.
have now camera that is good for me. bought it based on many reviews that I found from net and from magazines. after some months, still happy. good for me.
basically I believe in all kind of freedoms. but. basically all graffities also look good. but to make graffities is sometimes illegal. and also, to disturb more serious readers is not either good behaviour.
so, if somebody is only showing here his/hers own frustration, please stick your best camera in your ass. and if it feels good, just continue it. and if it does not feel good, then your camera is not the perfect one.

I think "graffities" didn't quite survive the trip from Finland. Could you try another translation?
A very interesting image, which is difficult to fully appreciate, at least for me. It may work better in Finnish.
