Have you tried converting it to a monochrome? I find it usually adds an interesting moody tone to this type of photograph.

I'd be curious to know what you did for processing here. Is the darkened frame photoshop, or Topaz? Great shot, by the way.

When I saw the first shot I was thinking it would look really cool if the spiral was darkening as it wound down... the wider shot is pretty much doing just that. The wider angle is a good one.
