Hey guys. Im hoping you can help me with a camera problem.
Im currently travelling around Thailand, and asia.

Im using a EX-FC100 camera, but almost all of my pictures gets really blurry and bad to look at. The only good pictures is in perfect dayligt, especially the evening and night time pictures are bad.

When I turn autoflash on, it takes OK pictures, even though the flash doesnt flash.
When i turn flash off, the pictures really really suck. No focus or anything.

And also when taking action photos, for example when training boxing. Every movement is blurred, not sharp at all.

I should say im pretty much a beginner with settings in camera, but this one is currently the worst ive had yet :(

I really hope you can help me out, cause otherwise i have to buy new camera.
So can you help me with the settings of the camera?

Regards

Hey sorry i posted two threads, didnt think the first one came through.

I can figure out where to delete one of them. If there is admin, you are welcome to delete one

well hard to say, maybe you should add some examples, indoors if the amount of light isn't enough the shutter speed will be slower inducing blur. Focusing, WB and metering can also make a difference. In setting check if your photos are set to fine or normal. fine uses less compression and should produce slightly better photos at the expense of a larger file size. indoors try to use higher ISO and flash were possible but the FC100 isn't ideal for low light action photography, you need something with a bigger sensor.

Picture is set to fine.
Auto AWB.
ISO is what i feel is best.

Can image size have something to say?

My problem is that many times i want to take pics without flash, but when turning flash OFF. Then shutter speed is very fast and pictures are very blurry, even if hold very still

Hi Sir D
Check the menu whether the mechanism of image stabilization?

I don't take many stills and have a FH100.

My compact superzoom camera takes a short time for the lens to auto focus. You press the trigger half way down, pause and the lens focuses. All the way down and a picture is taken. [Simpler P&S cameras with a fixed lens would not need this time.] If you should be pressing the shutter very fast try pressing the shutter half way down and pausing to see if the camera focuses.

What kind of blur? Look at your pictures and see if you can see the nature of the blur-

1) Focus on wrong thing? Some objects of the picture that are closer or more distant are in sharper focus just not what was intended? Implies that the camera did not have time to focus or that the auto focus might not be set or working. Is something close or distant in good focus?

2) Motion Blur - all smears in direction of camera hand held motion(horizontal, etc.) or faster object motion, boxer's hands, etc. This might be a shutter speed issue that might be corrected by using higher ISO if that can be set.

If lighting is very low the camera might always be choosing a very slow shutter speed. If settable set aperture wide open & ISO high. (My Casio FH100 has only two settings full open and a reduced aperture.)

The entire Casio FC100 user's manual is available on line, Casio Support, if you can find a way to download & view it.

Hello all. Sorry to step into this sequence with anither matter. I own an EX-FC100and by mistake I erased the firmware. Is is supposed to be located in the root directory of the memory. Would any of you try to copy it out and send it to me by mail? It is a very nice camera and it is DEAD now. My mail is [email protected].

Thank you and my excuses again
