Manufature of F717

I think all sonys are made in Japan. Most of Nikons are made in Thailand, Malysia etc. Don't know whether there is any difference. Is that important?

Uh oh.. I wonder what that means.

Hi Dan,
I just wondering where is manufactured your F717 Japan or China?

Graf
How can one tell?

On mine there is no sticker on the lens barrel.

It just means it isn't a US 717. Only the US demands that the country of origin/manufacture is included and plainly visible.

Found it on the bottom of the camera "Made in Japan" along with

3-078-535-01, what does this imply? It's is not the serial number, it starts with 1690....

I don't think its that exclusive any more Steve quite a lot of countries are requiring origin labelling these days - down here our economy is very much dependent on agricultural exports and you should just see the cr*p that some of the bureaucrats around the world put us through :-)
