stupid question...

Just got my Sony Nex 5nd charged... memory card still hasnt arrived! Ive tried using a micro sd card in a micro sd adapter with no luck; it recognises it is there, says how many shots i can take, but just will not take any photos. Pressing and holding the shutter button partially lets it focus, but pressing it completely just doesnt yield any results!

Is it the micro sd? Should i be patient and except that a micro sd adapter doesnt work?

Have used micro sds on plenty of other cameras, it doesnt say you can use a micro sd in the manual, but i thought once it was in the adaptor it was the same as a an sd card?

I have used my NEX-5 with an adapted micro SD. Make sure when you insert the thing in, it does not bump the write protect switch. Mine does that all the time.

I don't know if it is the card or not. But; take the card out and try to snap an image (sic) without having a card at all. It should work.

My 5N did this as well the first time I used it, and I'm sure I've seen other posters on here report this too.

I have no idea why, but I know the solution was to reset the camera back to defaults and after that it worked fine.

THANK YOU!!! I was starting to get a lil p* off, thanks for all the advice guys/gals; off to do some night shots now
