Sony Masterclass Sydney

Over the weekend, Sony ran a series of Masterclasses at the Sydney Opera House. I went to the last one on Sunday afternoon. I was expecting a much harder sell from Sony on their cameras, but we spent most of the time taking pictures! You got a choice at the start of a Nex 5N or an A65, and a choice of lenses - either the standard zoom or the 50mm f1.8. I chose the A65 with a 50mm f1.8. There were about 50 people in the class.

I was very impressed with the class. We spent 2 hours in the company of a professional photographer, walking around the opera house taking pictures. The pro spent a lot of time talking through how to view a scene, find the main subject, how to tell the story. And on top of that, I got 2 hours to play with an A65 under real conditions, not just in a store.

I like the second picture most. Good to see Sony organized workshops like these one. In Malaysia also ,Sony has workshops almost every weekend and whenever its a trip, they provide free transportation.I have attended so many of them and have learned a lot from the instructors, we had the A77/A65 workshop in the studio a week ago. This is where i give sony a "THUMBS UP" and keep it up.
