This is my first time lapse effort. I spent a couple hours shooting yesterday, and a couple of hours editing tonight. A few things went wrong (the primary one being that it was so windy that the camera was shaking slightly in some scenes even though it was on a secure tripod), but all things considered, I'm not displeased with it as a first shot at doing a time lapse.

So, how does one do a timelapse with this camera--is there an intervalometer that works with it?

That was done using the pan and crop function in Sony Vegas Pro 11. One thing I learned from doing this is that the editing process is much more crucial to creating a time lapse video than is the actual photography.

I bought a combination IR remote/intervalometer made to work with the NEX. I know that many people have made their own versions. This is the one I got:
