I was at an antique flea market and I am hoping these will work with my A77. It came with a minolta 7000 camera which of course I have no use for, but the lenses are the minolta 70-210 f4;35-105;50 1.7; 35-70 maxum 28 2.8; and a minolta maxum 4000 af flash. How will this setup work on the A77? Will the Flash work as well with the camera?

The flash doesn't work and the lenses are no problem. Total value of the lenses on Ebay about 300 to 400 $.

Greetings Leon

Not bad for the price :)

As to your question, all are full frame lenses and should work just fine with the
A77. I have a couple of them myself. Mostly entry level lenses, but I enjoy
using them. As to the flash, it was just after the 7000 and 9000 that Minolta
changed to the current hot shoe. The flash will work with a hot shoe adapter,

but you loose any metered flash, and the IR illuminator will not work. Better to
get a more recent flash for digital from either Sony or Minolta (5600d, etc).

All excellent lenses, a great find, enjoy them. :-)

Let's see, you got the Beercan, the mini-Beercan, a 28mm f/2.8, and a bunch of other stuff for $120. If the lenses are in good condition (i.e. no mold or mildew, or mechanical defect), I'd say you are one lucky fella.

You forgot the 50mm and all the lenses had filters on them. I'm going to sell the 7000; the 35-70 af; and the maxum 4000 flash. What do you think I should ask for all three on ebay?

you didn't say whether the Maxxum 7000 was the one with the interlocking 'X's. And, I'm a little surprised that you'd sell the mini-Beercan. That's a very good lens.

Good find, I started the same way a few years back. One note none of these are "D" lenses so the ADI functionality will be disabled. Not a bad thing unless you frequent and take flash pictures in rooms with mirrors

I also have the sony 16-50 that came with the camera, so I have too much overlap. Also I didn't think the 35-70 was a great lens. What would you suggest I charge for the set/
Sorry Edward, I haven't kept up with the going price of used Minolta lenses. You'll have to search the usual suspects to determine prices (eBay, KEH, etc.). However, I suspect that you should be able to make back most if not all your money.

You didn't answer my question regarding the crossed 'X's. Since the body and lenses are first generation Maxxum products, you could have the ones that determined to be in violation of Exxon's trademark, forcing Minolta to go to regular 'X's.
