After a few hours with NX200, I can say that there is a large difference in plus compared to the NX10/100.

The camera seems to be a lot faster, although it is small it is very well kept. Access to functions is considered.
Personally I miss the viewfinder the most, because I used only it in the NX10.

What do you mean with "reverse mounted"?

Anyway very nice.

It normally mens that you use an adapter to mount the lens reversed. Didn't know there was such one for nx yet, but didn't look tbh. What you get is poor man's super macro. The lower the focal length the greater the magnification. The focusing distance however is kinda fixed, and you have to get Really close to the subject (at 20mm I guess under 1 cm). But you can get more than 1:1 macro with very little expense. Zoom lenses are very useful for this, as you can adjust magnification and focus distance by zooming.

With 20mm and reverse mount is very hard to focus, I've used tripod but need "Macro Shot Focusing Rail Slider" for precise settings.
With a 50-200 zoom is much easier, but not obtained such a large approximation.

At ebay you can buy such mount:

http://www.ebay.pl/itm/250839231922?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

It is however a small problem, after installing it does not work. You have to put a piece of paper inside the cap - where there is a small pin and then mount.
Otherwise, the camera says that there is no lens.

Few new pictures taken with NX200.
Macro pictures taken with reverse mounted 20mm and flash with led ring lamp.

Pictures are exported from SRW to JPG with Samsung RAW Converter, processed at Lightroom as JPG and exported with 80% quality.
Currently, Lightroom does not support RAW files directly from the camera.

very interesting but:

1) how do you set aperture value on NX lenses with no aperture manual control?
2) do you need the piece of paper even if you set the camera in M mode?
3) how do you move focus, in NX lenses where the focus ring is electric?

I think this could work very well with legacy lenses (eg. 50mm or more).

1) how do you set aperture value on NX lenses with no aperture manual control?
You can't set aperture on lens like NX - you need full manual lens to do this
2) do you need the piece of paper even if you set the camera in M mode?
I do not understand the questions.
But if it comes to set light I actually lined up with a white sheet.
3) how do you move focus, in NX lenses where the focus ring is electric?
To focus you can only move camera forward and backward, or use full manual lens

Yap it will siut the best I think. I've try with 20mm, 30mm and 50-200

Some very creative shots, nice work.

It's good to see the NX200 being used, instead of just arguing about high-ISO test shots :)
Agreed! I understand the urge to 'test' the camera, but I look forward to see more users post images here.

Daniel1977, this latest set is fantastic! I looked through the images on Flickr, then remembered this post. Seeing them here in a larger format, they're even more impressive. Thanks for sharing!

Not so soon. Daniel leaves out that he's with Samsung.

He also ignores calls to post that explicitly in his signature. At a minimum, disclose the sponsorship of free equipment and advertising for them.

Anyone who hangs around this forum for very long is aware of that. I, for one, don't especially care. It would bother me if a pro photographer took pictures and tried to pass them off as images taken by a 'civilian' in order to glorify Samsung equipment. It would also be a transparent ploy...

That's not what he is up to. He takes his own pictures, with a creative eye that is uniquely his. His images are way too unusual and polarizing to be used as part of some clever PR campaign. If you follow his Flickr photostream, you can see his creative development over time. He's no different than any other poster here in that respect.

Photography isn't a competition, and receiving free equipment from Samsung doesn't make him a 'ringer' or give him an unfair advantage. :p

I'm not completely sure what you have against the poster. for me, he gave most of us a favor by his contributions, especially those who are dying to look for NX200 images.

good for him if he can get free equipment, but with this post I discovered that you can reverse mount a lens on a camera and create a sort of macro. I just ordered my own adapter to use on my NX100. I'm not interested in NX200, but these pictures look nice nevertheless!

Thanks for the shots Daniel...though one question:

As a pro photog who works for Samsung, why oh why oh why don't you shoot in RAW? For the love of all that's holy, we need real world RAW samples!

Well, it's dishonest and goes with Samsung policy to put shills on forums. Some more extreme than others.

I also believe it's against site policy and amazon policy to get free advertising in such a way.

You should ask Daniel why he will argue about everything else, but the moment he's pressed about making a proper signature reflecting his situation with Samsung, he runs away. Just look for him on other forums. It's the same, where he acts as a consumer and doesn't declare Samsung sponsorship.

Thank you for your kind words, that who so write!

To those who criticize also thank you because it helps in learning. While criticism is good and constructive.

In order to clarify.
Professionally, I work as IT guy.

I work in the Department of Network and Application monitoring in one of the largest state-owned Polish companies.

Besides Flickr, I do not have the official own site - so this is rather amateurish approach.

I do all at SRW ( RAW) but, as I wrote at my NX200's Flickr folder:
"Samsung NX 200 with FW 1.01

Pictures in this folder are exported from SRW to JPG at 100% quality with Samsung RAW Converter, processed at Lightroom as JPG and exported with 80% quality.
Currently, Lightroom does not support RAW files directly from the camera."

However, all will be now exported from SRW to TIFF.
TIFF will be imported into Lightroom, and than exported as JPG.
