I was expecting winter next week, but the weather forecast has changed. More shots of the Kettle River basin just south of Midway, British Columbia. I threw every tool in Lightzone at these to salvage them. I didn't want to waste a whole day's trip. Well, not a total waste, there was fresh homemade strawberry rhubarb pie ala mode at Sandy's cafe on the way home. But it is, er, not the same mood as last years trip through the area. But I found more scenes this time.

E3, 11-22+EC20, 1/80s f/9.0 at 22.0mm iso250

I'm amazed that, with the price of hay they didn't use last years stacks. Same photo from last year, with the beautiful blue skies.

Making the best of a wintery scene; it looks like it will snow any minute.

50s f/9.0 at 22.0mm iso250

Some places, the sky was just a distraction, so I cropped it out.

1/60s f/9.0 at 32.0mm iso250

Another heavily cropped shot. Keeping with the wintery mood.

I'll throw some more at you later.

All PP done in Lightzone. I couldn't have done this well with another program, not saying this is good.

Spectacular views, Sharon, and well worth the PP effort, I'm sure.

These are photographs, but they're certainly Therapy as well.

Thank you.

Those are so good...bright colors...beautiful scenery...what a nice place in autumn with blue skies too. :)

Hi Sharon,

Sometimes those grey skies are a real bummer, but other times not so IMHO, they all form part of the landscape and if there is detail in the cloud formations they really can look good ,although the crop you did on #4 looks nice becuse you captured some reflective blues in the water. 'Gee', that really is a pretty place.
Cheers,
John

I am glad you got out to shoot and showed these images. Pleasant to view.

These are some of the best shots I have seen.
Beautiful scenery worthy of print, postcard or desktop wallpaper.
Thanks for sharing, Sharon.

These are very nice Sharon. I think the last one looks almost like a painting and certainly would make a nice print.

Lovely, especially the second one that is blue and yellow. I like these better than last year's from the same spot.

Thanks so much, Marion. I think I can manage a few more short trips, maybe this week. Possible snow Thursday, which could make for nice photos Friday.

Thanks so very much. I don't know if I could have pulled these out of the ashes with any program other than Lightzone...and I understand that the company is now out of business. Pity, as there were some issues I'd have liked to have fixed.
These are photographs, but they're certainly Therapy as well.
It was wonderful therapy to be out taking the photos, a lot of fun.

Digirame,

Thanks so very much. I sure wish there had been blue skies, this year, as there was last year. But it was an interesting exercise to do something with the gray skies of this year.

Thanks so much for looking at these and your comments. I had hoped that if there were clouds, there would be some detail in them, but there wasn't much...so I darkened the sky more and pulled up the foreground more and used more contrast and saturation on the fall foliage.

Jan,
Keep throwing them at us, Sharon - very nicely done. I'm partial to the 1st & last shots; I really like reflections!
Thanks so much, Jan. I really like reflections, too, which is why I like this area.
I finally met up with Lucy, btw - perhaps someday soon we'll post a few pix.
I'm so glad you finally found Lucy, or the reverse. I'll keep looking for some photos.

Thanks so much, Joe. Until I cropped out the sky, I didn't like the last one, much, and it required a lot of PP work with Lightzone.
