Panasonic FZ150 price drop

They are sticker priced at $472 at "thecamerashop" (with dot com) in Calgary. A fairly large "bricks and mortar" store that has internet sales and a huge range of in-stock supplies from commercial video gear to pocket P&S.

Panny are trying to rip off australians with prices ranging from $US700- $US781 Plus shipping. Tell em they're dreamin'...... I bought from B&H for $430, been tracking the delivery grand tour on UPS, it is now in Louisville, Kentucky after travelling from Maspeth, Secaucus, and Newark, looking forward the the last leg by Afghan camel train to the potting shed.

Same place is showing the LX5 for $359.

Actually, it may be coming by donkey cart!

Give me a reliable dealer any day. The hassle with some of these lowball companies just isn't worth the effort if anything goes wrong. Also, beware some companies that quote a price, but it doesn't include a strap, battery or charger--things normally included from the manufacturer.

For your info, at this time last year the $499 FZ100 was about $399 (Amazon). Three months later it was $379 (Amazon).

I would expect the FZ150 to follow this pattern.

Hopefully they'll apply tax appropriate to the province of delivery and their shipping charge isn't excessive. However I do note that they are showing "0" in stock and "5" on order.

Regardless, I'm going to continue working with the FZ28 until next year about this time and then switch when the FZ150 has come down a bit (lot?) more.

Hope you're right, Gerry. I'm looking for an under $400 deal. Still flirting with the idea of a Nikon P7100, but haven't had the pleasure of handling either one yet. I like the idea of the P7100's compactness and 7x zoom range, but also the extra zoom range on the Panny. Oh, to be rich!

Hi All, Switching over from an Nex 5. Ordered the camera from Amazon yesterday at the 429 price but I'm not so sure they have them in stock. Usually (I think) they'll ship it our right away as I asked for priority shipping and paid for it. We'll see what happens.

I doubt Panny is setting that price if for no other reason that it doesn't make sense for them to pick on the Aussies when there are so many more deserving societies/cultures to pick on. :)

FYI, as I type, that $429 price on Amazon is still there, Vann's is at $450. Both offer free shipping.

I think there might be some serious Thanksgiving Black Friday shopping in my future. ;)

Welcome aboard. I think you'll like the camera and this forum. Post some samples when you get going.

Yea depends on what you want I guess, the P7100 is great because it is a lot more compact but the FZ150 has a lot more zoom.
