16-32-64? which iphone 4S would you pick

Every first 20mins free calls after 20h00 to midnight to numbers of the same network.
So they don't have unlimited night and weekends?!
They used to have it before, but not anymore, but you also have an app of the Telco that you can download to keep you up to date with your data and calls usage.

I was here talking about the $59 plan but you do also have the $99 plan

Timeless Extreme Plan ($99) where you have more unlimited stuff

Since you only have what you buy I bought the 64GB model. I tend to carry a lot of information on my phones from photos, videos, music and even a large number of receipts (that I photograph with the camera, since most receipts fade over time) as well as a lot of family medical information, and such.

to many issues with cards. You have compatibility issues, speed issues. What happens if the card isn't in and you try to access the information, etc. All of this leads to a product that is far more trouble-some. Something that Apple shy's away from.

An extra $100 to double the memory is fine by me since it is high grade and high speed memory.

New phones tend to cost about $500-800. I paid $530 for my Nexus One with no contract, for example.

You pay $0-200 when you sign a contract with a carrier because the carrier pays for part of the phone.

This is why there are early termination fees.

If you can still get $230 for a 3GS, that seems fairly high - but $150-180 wouldn't surprise me one bit!

No they are not. They are known as not taking customer opinions or even doing "focus groups". They make what they (Apple) wants.
Really? So they don't monitor MacRumors and other message boards? So have many of the new additions to each generation gone unmentioned as desirable on these boards?
Plus they don't allow user access to the battery in even the iphone. That is very rude of them when every other phone on the market allows the back panel to come off for battery replacement and access to a memory card.
In reality, how many users have needed to replace batteries? Between my wife and I we've owned every generation of iphone and still do and still, even the original, has a perfectly fine battery. Her 3G is in use now with my son and held a charge for 3 days with mild use as an iPod Touch for him. Again, don't take my experience, look at the 600k + members at MacRumors and thousands of others on the other leading boards. Outside the occasional user, it's a non-issue.
They charge exorbitant fees for more memory in a device because they won't let users just simply use their own card.
The prices of their devices isn't based on the perceived value of memory or storage space. The market has set the price for them. If having access to cheap memory was a market driven demand and game changer, it would show in terms of sales figures.
Have a dead battery? You can send your phone to Apple and pay $100 or so but you won't get your phone returned instead you get a refurbished phone that may or may not work as well as the phone you bought and used. Just one of the reasons why I'll never own a Smapple product.
I bought a refurbished iPad 1 for my elderly parents. 1yr warranty, looks and works like brand new. Have there been new worthy numbers showing their refurbished products don't function as well as the ones people are bringing to them for exchange? Nope. Hasn't even come up on the many message boards out there. In fact, the masses push others to buy their refurbished items as the quality and backing is that good.

Apple is just not a customer-friendly company??? Are you OK? Apple has the best service available.
I completely agree. Apple's HUGE success is built around the experience and customer service. Find me a store with the same sq.ft. in a mall in the US with as many employees working there focused strictly on taking care of the customer. They don't exist any more.

The big issue is I'd like to add a tethering option so I can connect my tablet or laptop to 3G services. To add that, I must give up my unlimited data plan, which I don't want to do. I may end up buying a mobile hotspot device instead.
Like you, I've been grandfathered into the unlimited data plan and won't give it up. Getting around tethering is easy though. Just Jailbreak the phone and viola. I've had all of ours going for years now without issue. The 4s will likely have a JB out before the holidays.
