USA Sony Store A77s SHIPPING!

Thank you Gary K. Great idea.

Geo
They shipped "indirect signature required" which means you can leave a handwritten note to the FEDEX delivery driver to leave the package at your door. You can then track it from work and have someone pick it up from your door if you won't be home soon.

Good thinking. Thanks Gary E.

Geo
Needs to have the tracking number and your signature, so just print out the tracking screen from your computer and say leave it, and sign.

That is on everyones USA sony style a77 ordering page ............ we are talking about those who already have pre ordered and looking at their order status page information. If you have not already pre ordered you are SOL until they get more stock available at USA sony Style unfortunately.

Well I lucked out after all! Fedex shows my A77 kit and LCD protector will be scheduled for delivery tomorrow (Friday) so I'll have it time for this weekend after all. Good thing too because I wouldn't have been home today to sign for it anyway. Hey, 2-day delivery for free ain't bad! My Fedex Home delivery guy lives on my block anyway so it's all good. Can't wait till tomorrow though. WOO HOO!

Where is my FedEx Santa? Was I supposed to leave Cookies & Milk at the door?
It's 9:36 A.M. & 14 sec--15 sec--16sec--GRRRR! ;)

Am with ya, Ken! Took the free delivery option and it's scheduled for Thursday. It takes the same battery as my a850 so will have my spare charged and ready -- no waiting! I originally ordered on day-one at Amazon, then a couple of weeks later (9/10), after reading predictions (from users' past experience) that SonyStyle would ship a week or two sooner, I cancelled at Amazon and ordered at SonyStyle. Looks like that gamble paid off! Also bit the bullet and bought a 32gb Delkin Elite 633 UHS-1 card, so am armed and ready for delivery!

Condition: Alpha Anxiety

Patient expects camera to be delivered any moment. Overdoses on coffee, aspirin, wine, or chocolate covered donuts. Becomes diarrheic 3 minutes before doorbell rings, enters restroom, does not emerge until 3 minutes after Fedex gives up and leaves a signature card instead of a square brown box. Patient discovers he can't retrieve box until after 6PM, becomes suicidal.

Curious to see all the first pix (lens, ISO, etc...)

That's a good idea for a new thread! (roughly 24 hours until delivery, and counting...)

I would be curious just to see the packaging, how it looked when it arrived, the box inside, the camera and accessories straight out. No, really.

Allen mine was 0000003 with the Lab the first two were shot through a window during this monsoon....lol

I am glad the Tokina 11-16 worked as it was a question I could not get answered until today. It and my 70-400 will see the most in service time on this a77. I may even try some landscape shots with this set up instead of my Nex and Contax G glass.

also everybody... please be sure the GPS data/recording on your camera is off before taking the pictures. We just want pictures but don't want to know where your camera is!!! :)
(Jim's pictures are all fine/safe.)
bye!!

Taken just after I impatiently charged the battery, attached the lens (16 - 50) and and become completely confused by the plethora of configuration choices :-)

Pop up flash, jpeg from camera, default settings, no post processing other than downsized to
3000 x 2000 to allow upload to DP gallery. File compressed to

Its just a quick snapshot to test the camera, I have to say I'm very impressed so far. The camera is responsive and the lens quiet and fast to focus. The OOC images have huge potential and will sharpen up well, especially when I take the time to focus better, this one is focused on the bridge of the nose rather than the eyes....

Can't wait for the weekend
