Sparrows, Sparrows, I love Sparrows!

Fun! Sparrows are driving me nuts now, in prairie grass/ forest verge habitat. They seem to have a trick of disappearing behind leaves, flying away before you notice them, etc. A song sparrow taunted me for some 15 minutes - I could hear it and could see it hopping from branch to branch in a heavily leafed bush, never in full sight.

Here in my place, they love to camouflage thru dirt and grasses. Such a wonderful and lovely critter.

I do have another set to come. =D

Thanks!

Some lovely photographs there. Well focused and bright, and nice situations.

I have lots of sparrows and have taken dozens of photos, but have not got a photo that i really like. Despite feeding them, they are very nervous, unlike the robins and Blue tits. The photos I have taken through the window on the Hawthorn tree are dark and just don't catch your attention.

I would like to get some pics like yours.

Well the nice thing about sparrows is that you could see them everywhere.
I guess I have learned how to approach them silently.

Share your sparrow shots here. Would appreciate to see it.

Thanks!

We have dozens of places here in the 'Footies (aka the foot of the Angeles Nat'l Forest ) that one would consider prime sparrow snapping territory, especially the hedge just behind my home and the fig trees across the street. I've only just started "birding" but I've really gotten the "bug" so to speak so mind me if some of the shots aren't perfect...I'm workin' on it!

Fabulous set. Love em especially the guy on the fence. Taking pictures of these cute critters are addicting especially when they are posing and playing.

Thanks for sharing your fabulous set. Keep going friend!

Thank Mark!

I thought I am the best sparrow whisperer here in Boston until I saw this old chap. =D

About 30 meters away, using HS10 at full-zoom, I took this shot while strolling my baby Elisha.

Cheers!

More snaps of these delightful little avians. I've always had a fondness for these wee birds...their feistiness, their resourcefulness and of course their intelligence and charm...what I never knew until I started taking photos of them was that they're the most widespread species of bird in the world. Originally from Asia, the common house sparrow is found in almost every country on the planet and is one of the most adaptable creatures in nature....they're aggressive, highly intelligent and can survive pretty much any climate.
