iPhone 4S

That is because today is the 4th, perhaps the iPhone 5 will be unveiled tomorrow October 5th.

Many serious rumors were talking about the iPhone5, so I'm not sure what is the deal here.

I don't care much about it since I still use a basic but robust Nokia prepaid cell phone @$5 per month of service.

Here is a pic from an iPhone 4. Sure, it's very favorable light, but even so, the detail is impressive for a damn phone.

Won't make many iPhone 4 owners wanna upgrade but I'm still using a 3Gs with so so video and photos.

I use the iPhone a lot for spur of the moment video recording and candid photos (haven't picked up my P&S in ages as the iPhone is so much more convenient and the old saying that if you have it on you.....you'll use it is really true). I may get the new 4S as it'll be a big improvement for me.

I have been waiting for the next iPhone my contract just came up for renewal but not sure I want to be with just a souped up 4 for the next two years. My friend just came over from Germany with his Galaxy II S. Pretty impressive phone expect for the battery life - so bad for him he had to buy the external battery. Whats the point of a super slim phone if you have to mount it in a big heavy battery case?

Decision time. My biggest fear yesterday was that I would have to wait months if I wanted a new iPhone. I doubt that will be the case now.

I still have one year left on my contract with my iphone 4, by then the iphone 5 will be out.

I guess what Apple means by Hybrid IR filter is a filter that blocks IR and also acts as a Anti Aliasing filter.
Does anyone knows more about it?

Would be nice to know also who is the CMOS sensor supplier. Sony?

Don't know if this was posted, but they have a camera page with full resolution photos. I don't use point and shoots, but I certainly wouldn't buy one if I had this phone.

Why can't he just charge it up each night he goes to bed? Or does he live up a tree on the jungle where there is no electricity?

I think I will keep my Nokia N8. It has optical zoom, a real xenon flash and a decent-sized sensor. The thing is though, it still isn't as good as a nice P&S, like the Canon S95.

Why isn't the FL of the camera lens mentioned at all, even in the Tech Specs?
And what is it, anyway?

I was planning to use it for Astrophotography! ;)

Seriously, you may not be were of it, but there is a difference between, say, 18 mm equiv. and 28 mm equival. After all, there is even a phone camera with zoom!

I don't think people who buy Apple products pay much attention to that kind of stuff. How smooth and shiny the outer casing is and how many accessories are available is usually more important than the camera's FL, processor's speed, battery life, etc.

Because without the extra battery he gets about 4-5 hours of battery life. He is a consultant and constantly on the road. Works late and can't afford to have a dead phone. 4G phones take a lot of batter, plus the IIs has a bright 4.3 inch screen consuming more battery.

I would not mind the battery if it just made the camera a little thicker since I keep my current phone in a somewhat protective case. But the battery adds quite a bit to a already long phone. Too big for me to keep in my pocket.

A phone with a 4 hour battery life is a complete and utter failure at its core use case.

But iPhone is currently the most popular camera featured on Flickr! Do you think that people who post on Flickr only care about how shiny, etc. the camera is?
May be that is why pink cameras are now being offered by most makers!
