Just walked into Costco to pick up some Diapers and wipes and left with the Nikon AW100. Comes with case, lexar 4gig Platinum II SDHC 100x card. all for $319

Great deal especially with costco's warranty's they have.

Pictures to come latter, battery charging. Really looking forward to carrying this with on my back country motorcycle trips rather than lugging a DSLR around.

Please post some sample images when you can. I really want to like this camera but the real world samples so far are not impressive.
What type of images would you like?

Ill see what I can do. I'm home for a few hours before I'm off to work. I'm going to try to do a few quick aerial shots if the weather cooperates.

That would be great if you have time. I would like to see some close up people shots in available light (no flash) indoors and outside. Also some landscape shots with lots of detail.
Thanks

Ill see what I can do? When my daughter wakes up Ill take a few and when I drive to work Ill see what I can get for a few landscapes. The weather is a bit crappy but we will take a few. I'll post some later this evening.

I'm looking forward to playing with this camera. Hope it lives up to my expectations.

It's not ideal, but I usually do a search on Flickr by camera, if I'm interested in seeing real images from typical users. Sometimes you can find full sized samples as well.

I'll probably get a water-proof camera next summer. This one would be great, but may end up getting a cheaper one, like a Fuji XP30. I don't need the ultimate quality as I have several other better cameras. But many seem to love the AW100.

Do you shoot from the (moving) bike? Some do, I know, so that's why I ask.

(BTW, does the dakar in your handle mean you ride an F650GS Dakar? Just curious. I had an F650GS, loved it.)
