Wonderful Snow Pics !!! must see... (PICS AND LINKS)

Maanit,

Very kewl, or should I say "cold" images :-) I really like the 1st one. The fluffy snow on that big tree and the roof. The nice red frontdoor. The only negative, for me, was those two powerlines at the top of the frame.

I hate powerlines....lol They ruin lots of my really nice shots :-( Oh well, I guess it would be hard to view pics and re-charge your battery without them ;-)

Thanks for sharing,
Steve

Very nice images, reminds me of ski season which I have not participated in for a few years. Living in Jacksonville, Florida we don't see (i hope not!) anything like that, but was sure nice to see.

Boy, I sure wished we got snow that deep. I live a few miles outside of atlanta an our best snow is a couple of inches. And that may happen 1 time a year, and its gone the next day.

Very nice. You might want to punch up the red door and chimney in the first one. I first thought it was a black and white image.

This would be exercise for layering. Bracket your exposures to accentuate the door and then the landscape and merge them.

It would be quite easy to paint out the power lines also.

Makes me a bit home sick. I have not seen snow in over 3 years. I miss it.
Very nice pictures. I think I like the lake pic the best.

For info on blending layers go here:
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/blended_exposures.shtml

For removing the power lines use the cloning tool. It allows you to replace one part of the picture with another. It works best when there is another part of the picture that looks like what would be under the power lines if they weren't there.

It is one of the most elementary tools for the digital editor.
