portrait (not for corporate web surfers)

You will be surprised: Vogue would be nice, yet this is not where my aspirations are. I liked Vogue when Guy Bourdin and Newton were on the cover. Perhaps my views are a bit outdated, but I have not seen there anything that would come even close ever since.

PS: this thread is an enjoyable "morning coffee" read :) ...so many ignorant giving an opinion (of hate/dislike) about a photo which basically is art.... (the OP's art) which he likes, and really that is all that matters.

But he posts for opinions, then flips when he doesn't get the exact narrow range of positive ones he feels he deserves.

No Irakly I was talking about appealing bokeh and perfect IQ of M glasses while used wide opened. That what makes Leica red dot so famous among photographers AFAIK.

An beleive me I am rating you artistic abilities establishing yourself on the forum very high.
In your noble attempt to advise me about my finances, little did you know that I never paid for the Noctilux. Ironically, it was an award in appreciation of my artistic abilities :)))

We don't agree and that is fine.

He thinks he does.

Believe me, i am not taking all this personally.

You see, it is not the matter of what a lens can do, rather, what you want it to do. An eye-soothing bokeh does not always fit a theme of a picture.

Which means Leica was the wrong choice. What photographer is responsible for are right instrument, good lighting & proper composition/depth of field (OK lets drop ethtetic for now).

The background in your image is a waste, model disconnected from the environment that is obvious. And you might spent some tome & efforts delivering model and equipment to the place without any positive effect in the final image imho.

You might be familiar with that image with a dog and Vodanova look carefully how background is important for mood creation.
Believe me, i am not taking all this personally.
Actually clarence hk gave you more valuable & helpful information then all other positive posters altogether. But instead of appression you negated it. That is my personal opinion about the conversation.

Just saying "Or that is great wonderful perfect etc" to every image means nothing. Critic from a side is an important necessity for selfimprovement unless you consider your skills on par with a guru like Helmut Newton already.

In the last case the critic was pointless agreed:-)

I totally love how she is NOT smiling.
Good composition too.
(Nice model, of course...)

On the other hand, having browsed through the rest of the thread, I think you could use some more distance in accepting criticisms. But that is another thing.

Hahaaa……thank you so much lxstorm ! You are the fairest of them all ! :)

Originally I have much much more useful information & websites to provide Irakly for improvement. But I get tired of his arrogance & ignorance. So just let him be what he is now.

A frog in the well. LOL.
