Washington DC Shoot (My Daughter and Finance')

A really beautiful couple. The one thing that jumps out at me right away with most of these pictures is that the buildings are all leaning to the left. It seems like you are in a boat for a few of these shots but somehow it makes me want to lean my head to the left.

Firstly, I believe you mean fiancé , not finance'.

Secondly, you really need to take a minute to level your images. The horizon is leaning to the left in every single image, which is very distracting.

Overall, however, the shots are good. Posing is natural on many of them, the light is decent considering the conditions you were working with, and framing and composition are good on most.

I was going to mention that...... :-)

I agree, it is very distracting. Afew minutes in Photoshop would benefit these images immensely. Other than that they are quite good, the poses are a little stiff but the diffused lighting is good. Overall a job well done. Just get rid of the slope.... ;-)

Any time you photograph around water especially, it is imperative to get the horizon straight.

I am pleased with the performance of the 18-200VR. What do you think?
I think your daughter is stunning, and her fiance is handsome. You have beautiful grandchildren in your future.

Your pictures are wonderful because of the content. The 18-200 is a very literal lens, and didn't add anything special to the compositions. The 35/1.8DX would have done a better job.

The tilt didn't bother me at all. If you were shooting a landscape or seascape, it would have been a different matter, but it's a device that adds energy and interest to a portrait. imho

to make your daughter (BTW she is beautiful) to show this much "feelings" in front of you...

You did handle the shot pretty well, but I hope you will pay more attention in the future for the level.
If is tilted, is fine. But your are just off a bit, what is distracting.
Wish them (daughter and fiance) all the best.
P.S. Do not take pics at the wedding. Enjoy it.

I have to secodn whatevryone said,

Technically, the images could be better, but your daughter and partner are so rediculously phtogenic that it didn't matter.

I took these shots of my daughter and finance' prior to their wedding this April. This was done with my S2 and 18-200VR. I am pleased with the performance of the 18-200VR. What do you think?

Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance!

Nice job! I really liked the composition, poses and expressions. They are a beautiful couple. You were able to get the the couple to stand out in some of the shots by means of composition despite not having a large aperture. A couple of shots near the end (5 and 8 I believe) had some distracting background but they still worked.

As mentioned above, once you straighten out the horizon, you have some great shots.

.
Very photogenic couple truly enjoying life as one.

I believe no#8 with the two walking in a crowd,
man on a cell behind them, caught my attention ..;-)

I've corrected the leaning buildings.
Bet they look great! As others have mentioned you have a very photogenic daughter and a very handsome son in law.

Thanks for responding. I have straightened out the buildings, does this raise my grade for photography and post processing? Much of my responses were positive. Thank God, otherwise I would wind up with an inferiority complex.

If you have the time do you mind sharing your insight as to how I could have gotten a higher grade for the photography and post processing.

Thanks,

Robert
