Would be really great to see them. I'm wondering if the sensor saturation problems will be exacerbated by flash reflections.

William -

I apologize for the delay in posting - I have not posted in almost 2 weeks.

I have been out of town since before Thanksgiving - my father was quite ill and I flew up to NC to be with my family -

I have recently returned - as he is doing better - and I expect to get back into my routine - and into taking some more pics.

So - I hope to have some flash pics very soon.

And I will post them here so you can see them.

Thanks
=)

Samuel -

where did you get your hands on the Sigma flash ?.... I purchased an SD9 a couple of weeks back, but have been unable to find anyone with the EF500DG in stock.
Any assistance is appreciated.

where did you get your hands on the Sigma flash ?
Didn't Sam mention that it was being FedEx to him by Jeffrey-san?
Osaka, specifically.
That's right - Thanks to Jeffrey from Japan - I got one -

It is a really nice flash - very powerful...

Here's a funny story - right after we got it, I was out taking a few night shots and took some shots of the lamp posts that line the walk ways around our homeowner's association. They are about 12 feet tall - have a large white globe on them - and also have a daylight sensor on the top that tells them to automatically come on at night -

Well...

As soon as I snapped the first shot of one, the light immediately went out - I mean completely out - not dim - but out! I was like 'Whoa!" - then I realized what had happened - so I walked over to the next lamp about 30 yards away - hit the test button on the flash, and BAM! it went out too! How funny.

I was laughing at something so silly... And of course, people were out walking there dogs, and watching me - and I am sure they thought "What is this guy doing? They see a big flash, and then..."poof!' - no more walkway lights - And the lamps stayed off for about 5-6 minutes each. And then slowly began to light up.

I felt like Dumbledore from Harry Potter - when he 'catches' all the lights from the lamp post at the beginning of the Sorcerer's Stone -

I guess I am NOT a muggle after all!

In this global economy, you need friends in many places :-).

me, the lamps and the flash!

What a 'fFunny situation, I can see you going 'poof', poof', 'poof'..... Good when you can't sleep and you're annoyed with the street lights.

That flash must also be a good defense weapon when confronted with some crazed animal or a bad guy at night.

It reminded me of last time I took a picture of a streetlamp at the local train station with my digicam. Suddenly a furious guy came at me accusing me of takin' a photo of him. He demanded the camera, I don't quite know what he had in mind. Then I said (what should I say): 'But there's no film in it!' I could see the wheels turn in his mind: 'a loony'. He just turned on his heels, and I got a picture of his back!

I'm waitin' to see the lamp photos..

Interesting story with a certain "flash effect" to it :-) Hope everything is well with you. Looking forward to see some pictures with flash!

Me too. I didn't want to bother you, and I was also a bit "busy" elsewhere last week. Looking forward to seeing what that puppy can do - from the brief look I had of the manual it seemed to have LOTS of neat features.
