thanks for having a look and the comments...i agree the first is busy but i really like the photo...maybe needed to move her away from the sticks/trees.

as for the eyes they were edited in photoshop, i don't own PP.
it's a simple little edit

for the whites i use the DODGE TOOL with range set to Highlights and Exposure to 10% and i go over the whites in the eyes. it really makes the eyes pop.

also i use the SPONGE TOOL with Mode set to Saturate and flow at between 10-20% i go over the iris a couple of times to bring the colour out.

Always difficult to critique when the photographer says "I agree...but I really like the photo...."

I like the photo too....but...

It happens all the time when the photographer sees the reality and viewers see something else in the photo...

My suggestion about "moving her away" from the background is this....if YOU had moved to your left it seems that the background would have been less busy...also, having more framing to the right behind her would have set her off better against the background...

One last point...you can use the blur brush to soften the busy background...that would help too...

1 - Great light on her, but a positively evil bkg.

2/3 - Blacks are too deep on my monitor, some really like this look though.

4 - I could go either way on this one, I kind of like the contrast and tones, but something about it just doesn't seem right. Perhaps the lack of catchlights.

I like the first one the most. That fill made her pop- love the colors. That being said- the backdrop does not do her justice. Should had placed her away from any foliage seen.

Beautiful job. Number 3 is my favorite. Love the head position and the direction of her eyes.

Really love the colors and exposure on #1 but the background is a little too busy. I also agree with the poster who said that the blacks were too dark on the B&W pix.

Thanks for sharing.

Dwight.

I really like number 2. The color version of this shot on your website is also very nice - would be hard to say which version I prefer...

Your model is really beautiful. And she looks very naturally young - not sure how to say that, I hope this is clear enough!

Overall they seem to have too much contrast, which hurts the b+w ones which make her face look too bright and rather unnatural looking. High contras might make some people go "oooh" but I prefer a more natural and normal contrast level Saturation is also too high for photo 1 for me.

Very nice, I prefer the two black and whites, her eyes are very large and they do them justice.
