Hi guys,

my first post here in the Sony forum, got my hands on the FS100 and hate to admit it just might turn me into a Sony fanboy lol - and I ordered a Nex 7.
I really enjoy using this camera, reminds me of the waist level Hasselblad days,
direct link below, let me know what you think, cc welcome

Awesime video! What lens is that?

DoF is used very well. Beautiful.

nice video!...could you let me know if you used 60p or 24p and what shutter speed you used to compliment the video.

thanks

thanks David, I used a cheap Nipon nex-canon adapter w aperture control, works amazingly well on primes, no vignetting all the way down (to about 11) and
a 50mm 1.2
Ah, a $1,600 lens. I already thought you had a better copy of my 18-55 kitlens ;-)

thanks! i sure hope so, it has been quite some time that i was that excited about purchasing a camera, really had to control myself to not get the 5n in the mean time :D
Exceptional! A very thoughtful remembrance as well. Very professional.

I also just bought a Nex N5, coming from Nikon dslrs which I will still keep. I am more than pleased with the camera and the 2 kit lenses. You will be quite happy I'm sure.
Again, well done!

The footage was not exactly fats moving objects, so I think 24p would have handled the talking heads just as smoothly, and with less compression than with 60p giving a better quality image?
I personally was struck by how fluid the shots were. Shooting at 24p would've ruined that.
Why not Shoot at 24p?, not a critisim, just asking...

No, almost everything that moves looks less smooth at 24p, almost no matter the speed. As I said, I was struck by the fluidity, and that was before I knew what it was shot at. And I've heard nothing that indicates that the FS100 is using more a compressed format when recording 60p.

no particular reason, when I set out to shoot this wasn't sure which direction it would go and I wanted the option for slow motion in post,

the way it turned out i could have shot this in 24p - would have produced a different feeling but nothing significant
