Very interesting material

Hi Raul,

Thanks for the link!
I totally agree with what Mel wrote.

As a small tip for those who like the Polaroid camera's and want a book filled with Polaroid samples:

The Polaroid Book: Selections from the Polaroid Collections of Photography

http://www.amazon.com/Polaroid-Book-Collections-Photography-Anniversary/dp/3836501899

It gives a short overview of the history of Polaroid camera's and many samples from famous and non-famous Polaroid users.

Yes, about perspective and subjective views, as well as an era now past.
Or one might even say, is it past?

The camera/technology were clearly ahead of their time.

Thanks for sharing!

Quite wrong the era is not past.. an Austrian took over a part of the old Polaroid factory and together with friends of mine are now promoting what is called the
impossible project.. the resurection of Polaroid and some of the materials..
the problem was that some of the chemestry that was used in the past was no
longer on the market and they had to reinvent new formulas.....
But thre materials still work in the old cameras...

They also have plans of rteintroducing 8x 10 material under the name of impossible
not only sx-70 material...

You can buy the material online and here is the web site for further information..
We also had quite a large part of that old Polaroid picture collection here on

exhibit because the people who are funding the impossible project to a certain degree
also bought a large part of the collection......

Peter I only meant "past" in regards to the dominance in the photographic industry the polaroid system once held. "That dominating era" is now gone. Nothing more.

Great additional links and thanks!

I wonder how our 12MPx files will look next to "modern" technology fifty years from now.
