I STILL have a 128 Mb SM card that my camera won't open OR format, and that doesn't appear on my desktop using either of my two fully functioning card readers. I think I inadvertantly saved to it when I did a "save as" without changing the directory...

Any thoughts on how I can pry it open? I've tried inserting/removing 100's of times, but don't wanna wreck my $500 camera over a $40 card.

Try lctech.com they have a demo you can download to see if there program will work for you. It will only give you thumbnails but if it works you can purchase the full version for about $40.

where can I find this program?

LCTECH.COM ???????????? I don't think so ???

(1) If your card readers can "SMPREP" it, try that

(2) Take the card into a store that sells Fuji digicams, and use the Fuji to format it.

I'll vouch for " PHOTORECOVERY® for Digital Media"
from http://www.lc-tech.com/PHOTORECOVERY.htm

It saved me some pictures I had on an SM card, I only wish I knew about it sooner, I lost about 100 pics from a trip to Canada last summer, never even considered that there may have been a way to recover them...
