Thanks. When I shot it, it was up to the 78th floor. Now, it's a 80 floors. The 71 floors you quoted is incorrect.HI Dez
Nice pictures. Just before you posted, I was reading Conde' Nast traveller magazine which gave a full sketch of what the building will be like when completed. Very very nice. Conde' Nast will be leasing 1 million square feet of office space for 25 years at a cost of $2 billion dollars. It is projected to open in 2014.
Here are some of the features that they mentioned:
1 Underground concourse with climate control to 12 subway lines
2. Seventy one floors with 2.6 million acres of office space.
3. Curtain walls. 23 acres of blast-resistant glass-tested to withstand hurricane and earthquake.
4. Observation deck will be on floors 100 & 101.
5. Elevators. 4 times speedier than tipical elevators. 2000 ft per minute, and the list goes on. I think that the building will also be quite a height at 1776.
Got it. Thanks. I wonder if they building's owner already leased the whole building to capacity.Probably what they quoted , was the actual amount of floors that will be rented, and not the total floors.
It also kind of seems they have built a giant memorial commemorating the success of the terrorists in forcing America to change. I think they should have rebuilt the original towers or the original towers with an even more fantastic design.nice shots but i reckon the building design is awful. with all the amazing designs coming out lately ( mainly in china) i think this is below par.
time will tell when its finished.....
At least something is being built after 10 years and the design, when completed, will probably look fantastic. It also kind of seems they have built a giant memorial commemorating the success of the terrorists in forcing America to change. I think they should have rebuilt the original towers or the original towers with an even more fantastic design.
This just seems sad we have been cowed into building broken buildings and holes in the ground.
