I probably can't make the Yellowstone part of the trip but I'll be there for the Grand Teton part... I'll probably show up in the area on the 3rd, stay in the lodge with everyone the 4th-6th, and then head home on the 6th while everyone wanders up to Yellowstone.

Hi Jim,

You are most welcome, and make sure to bring all your batteries and CF/SD cards. There will be a lot to shoot and hopefully the fall colors are late this year like summer is delaying.

I am newer (SD14 in 2009 as a Sophomore in College) and would like to put some of the names to faces. The more info I can get the better likelihood that I can plan it and pull it off.

Never been out to Yellowstone.

Anyone know what would be the best place in Central Illinois to leave from, or would Chicago be best to leave from? Also it looks like Jackson, WY for incoming if I get there during the Grand Teton time (Before Oct 6th), and West Yellowstone Regional Airport if I can't make it till October 6th or later.

depends on how central you are. But St. Louis might be an option.

I don't know if I could make it yet.

Is anyone flying in to Idaho Falls on the 6th? I am 22 years old and renting a car is ridiculous (goes from $220 for over age 25 to $385 for me at 22, that price is for the 6th through the 9th). So I could rent a car, but I figured I tried to find a ride first before trying that out.

Some of us can only make Grand Teton part (Oct.4-6), and some can only makes Yellow Stone (Oct. 6-9)...In case you are still sitting on the fence...this will be fun shooting of these grand locations.
