Barrel Distortion Fix

ok this really sucks , tried some new photo site software and apparently i'm too stupid to use it so i'll repost at a different site with software an idiot like me can understand

Here’s the technique. It’s so ridiculously simple but it does require a Photoshop plug-in. I used Kai Power Tools 5. There is a filter called rad warp that is designed for warping images but can be used to unwrap the barrel effect.The settings I used were all at default except for the Alpha setting which is set anywhere between -.02 to -.04 depending on the photo. I realize this is an additional expense,but it finally makes my wide angle pics look like true wide angle instead of semi-fisheye.

For those who already have the KPT 5.0 plug in, this is the easiest way to correct barrel distortion with the WC-E24. There is no cropping or change in image quality on the process.

In my opinion, it works better than Panorama Tools. Panorama tools seem to fix barrel distortion but it introduces a little distortion at the edges.
