There are 3 or 4 different threads everyday on the subject. What sensor, how much, what do you think it will have, etc...... I am annoyed by it, furthermore I think they should have their own forum or be condensed to one thread. This is the Nikon D3-1/D700 forum, not the speculation or recommendations for future products forum.

I know some will be hasty with my comments here, however I come the this forum because I want to converse, share, learn from and admire photographers that have the same equipment I do.

I suggest the d800, D4, D(whatever number) to have their own forum. That way everyone will be able to voice themselves in whatever subject they wish and not clutter forums with off subject threads.

You raise some valid points but I honestly reckon people are genuinely curious as to whats around the corner, new technology/ features, hopefully equals more creativity!

I learnt a long time ago that although it is the photographer that creates the image having equipment that allows one to create images in a certain way is equally important.

Enjoy the anticipation, if you can, you are still able to post and respond to threads of specific interest, threads that don't interest you well simply ignore them, you certainly can't stop others speculating!

regards

Tony

After a three year wait . . . and three weeks from the announcements it is only going to get worse! :) This is a forum dedicated to equipment.

Besides, you are not being forced to read those threads that annoy you. Now how may we help you with your equipment questions? Fire away.

From top 20 threads 3-4 is "when", "what" and "how much". And it is each day and every day. It indeed getting very irritating. And IMHO your idea to have dedicated forum to future cameras is just ideal. Hopefully owners take note.

Cheers

One of the strengths of the internet is that you can easily bypass that which you do not want to read. It's not like someone is forcing you to read these posts you find so objectionable...

It's amazing that people complain about this...just ignore those threads...

You don't have to visit websites you don't like, you don't have to read discussion threads you don't like, you don't have to click links you don't like...that's the internet...total freedom of choice.

I completely agree with you.

No you are not, but I can't wait when the new Nikons will be release so that all the D-700's, D-3's, D-3x and s's are dumped so I can pick one cheap. Wish Nikon would hurry.

The hobby of the majority of people that post in DPR is buying photography stuff. They're only interested in photography as a means of testing their stuff. They quickly grow bored with this and then begin to speculate on possible new stuff so they can begin the process all over.

Changing the subject- I'm going to Bungabunga for 2 weeks. What lenses should I take?

When I return I want to print my monkey snapshots. What printer should I buy? What should I do if the printer has clogged nozzles? What about 3rd party inks? Should I cancel the trip and wait for the D4? Should I fly to Bungabunga or swim? Where is Bungabunga anyhow? Serious responses only please. If you have an issue with me being a moron just keep quiet. Afterall, this is DP REVIEW!

Yes, there are far too many rumour threads and far too much speculation, like "how many fps do you guys think they new Dxyz will have?"

Nevertheless, I think the topic as such is valid. Many of us have saved up for new cameras, and we are looking for information (not wild speculation) about what might come out.

As there is no easy way to filter speculation from information, I prefer accepting the speculation threads and occasionally browse them with a grain of salt, to see if some real information is hidden deep inside.

How true!
Plenty of...."All the gear and no idea!"

I know know why there are so many D2Xs, D3 etc with shutter counts in the very low 1000s, if not 100s.

There is little point in speculating, or wishing etc. The cameras were designed last year, the tooling has taken place, delays because of the earthquake etc mean that the tooling has been relocated.
What will be, will be.

I know what you mean, but most people here are gearheads wanting the next camera body...do you really think they take photos or just buy a camera then wonder what the next one will be like ? ;-)
