We need you mug in the gallery

Where did Karen Belloise go? I did a search for the whole site and couldn't find her. I've forgotten what camera she changed to.

The thing of it is, member leave and most of them get older and change in appearance (I don't). So we started a new one.

It is like on your driver license, they change you picture every so often.
If we can ever get the password for the olyfc site it will be gone.

Why do you say it will be gone if you get the password to it? I have had that site and the original self-portrait site in my favorite places for a long time.

My, what do we need two galleries for.
I don't see anything wrong with starting a new gallery. There are alot of new people that would like to add their self-portraits.

People were just letting you know that there are already two other galleries and either you can copy and paste our pictures into your new gallery (That's what DomP did when he created the 2nd gallery) or people can send you an updated version of their self-portrait.

We were just trying to make it easy on you by letting you know you could link to our portraits, too.

Also, DomP paid pbase $25 back in January 2001 to put his site there so I would think he would be the one to delete it if he chose to. What do you think?

It is not a lot of work for me, I enjoy doing it.

I do understand that the old OLYFC is not our gallery to delete and I will not, without the owners permission.

I do not see any need to have the same pictures on a 2 or 3 different galleries, that just takes up disk space.

The new gallery has a different format then the old ones did. It has a little info on each person and is laid out a little different.

Myself and other uses thought it would be nice to have updated pictures and the pictures of the new user.

I don't know the answer to your question, but she was also a group founder of another Olympus group I participate in. We've since re-grouped, but I do know that many people were asking the same question you did.

Sounds great and the new site looks very good. Nice work, Bill. I've already added it to my favorite places, too.

I thiink it's great having 3 generations of mugbooks of OlyTalk users. I would really like to see all new and future mugbooks linked back to previous mugbooks so people can see how the forum has changed, and how it has stayed the same.

It would be a shame to lose our history by having the old mugbooks deleted or forgotten.

Eric, Debbie and all,

Until today I wasn't aware of the 1st gallery (thanks Debbie). I agree that we shouldn't forget about these directories and it is not problem to put links from the new directory to the old.

One issue for creating a new Mug directory is control -- unfortunately both of the previous directories are outside of our control. The galleries are dead, they cannot be added to or modified. Beside control, there is a desire for the directory to provide additional information (camera type, etc.). How often have folks asked to see images from a particular model or had questions about software? This is more than a gallery of member portraits, it is meant to be a resource for members. I hope that all current members would copy their portrait from the old directories and reupload to the new, adding the directory information so folks can easily find other members that use similar products.

Well, I'm rambling, bottom line, please add your mug to the new directory. If you visit the root of this gallery: http://www.pbase.com/otfchallenge , you'll see that several sections have been added and more will continue to be added in time. Thanks. -- LC

P.S. Yes, I plan to add my mug -- or at least, a camera friendly version, LOL!

Adams socks...

People are clearly intimidated by Adams socks. They know there's just no way to compete with them ---- They are clearly the socks that rule the world...

So just give up in the sock department folks. Concentrate on something else, and send some shots to Bill. He's twiddling away his thumbs to a nub (effectively castrated in photoSIG terms)
