*** The Weekly Close Up 16/2011***

tnx! but I would love to get some specialized lens' but can't afford it. soo this setup will have to do the job...

cheers, Mark
Hi Mark,

I also enjoyed reading your blog. Your description (in that blog) of technique and apparatus will surely put to shame some of us (like me) who believe it requires a lot of specialized equipment to make such extraordinary macros. Well done!

Thank you, Jim! I actually did not use the 150 Rynx on the 35mm ZD....Hopefully you will not strip me from my honorary title!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the variety and I think using the Raynox 150 on the 35mm definitely qualifies you as a full blown Bug Whisperer.

All the shots stand out but I really like the first one.

Thanks for sharing

Most excellent macros of a robber fly lunching on that deer fly.....Great macros, Jeff!!!!........

Wonderful captures, Brad!!!!!!! Number 1 does it for me; that yellow, purple, and geen combination is just breathtaking....

Pic of a spider that almost bit me while reaching for a garden hose out of the shed.

I thought he was a leaf laying on the hose untill he reared up and thru his fangs out.Needless to say he has been dried out and mounted on a peice of bark.Satin finish varnish works wonders on bugs.Taken with E-620 18-50 2.8 dc mac sigma

yeah, blue dashers make great images,,,but do you know why dragonflies,, land on the sticks,, it is to rest?,,,, (did you use a flash or natural light?)
My guess is they rest on the sticks as well as feed from the sticks. Very similar to a Flycatcher bird that perches at the ends of branches. Snags an easy meal and then returns.

These were done in natural light. Some in full sunlight, some partial to full shade.
