Saturn Sony Digital Video

Joe, what MM eye piece are you using? I have the scopetronics 40mm Maxview. I would love to get below the 20mm range but not sure what adapeters i need. I have used a 2x barlow with the 40mm

Your digital camera images are extremely good. I haven't taken
time to read the entire thread, but have you tried calibrating with
darks and flats and stacking several images? I just purchased a
717 (5 Megapixels) and am just learning how to get decent images
with it, using a Meade 10" SGT. Am curous about your deep sky
results, if any.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi James. With the 707 I used the Maxview 40 most often, supplemented with a 19mm panaptic, 12 mm OU ortho, and a 7mm Nagler. The latter three were connected with the LE Adapter from LensPlus (online). Not the greatest adapter, but it did the job. Regards, Joe

Hi Jones,

I'm very new at this. I've just been surfing around looking for such equipment for my 707 and stumbled across a Meade ETX-90 for $229 and a Maxview 40 for $100+..

Can I use these with my 707? Do I need anything else to take such pics for planets? Also, I can also use the Meade ETX-90 for birding too?

Thanks,
Ivan

Ivan, the Maxview 40 will work on the ETX-90, this should be a good combo. It would probablly work well for birding also, but im not sure...

You may want to look into a 2x or a 3x Barlow eyepiece to help magnify the planets a little more.
