I have seen many, many postings of HX100V photos. I would like to see some good work posted by the H-5 users so that we may compare the cameras and get an idea

just how much progress Sony has made in 4.6 years. Here are a few of my H-5 photos
that I am proud of. hawk65

Awesome photos, now that is what you call "In Your Face" photography, sure captured the detail. I have always from day one been happy with my H5.

I did get the hx100 but after 14 days I returned it as it had poor optics, focusing problems and scratched up EVF, I gather someone had it before me and returned it for the same reason I did? I am waiting for a new one from another company.... have another week to wait, this company ordered 400 and is waiting for them to come in, lets hope I dont have to wait beyond what they told me, I am anxious to get it.

I just got a new 2.2 tele lens for my H5, Will be taking it out for a test spin later today.

For now, here are some photos with my trusty h5

You do have reasons to be proud of these shots!

Hi Bill,

Your pictures are an inspiration to anyone that sees them. Beautiful shots, everyone of them. What is your opinion on the progress from the H-5 to the newer HX100V?

I know there is a learning period and that most shots with the HX100V will improve over time, but at this point I don't see much improvement of IQ. hawk65

Thanks Bill,

I have been mired in the macro phography for quite awhile. Hope to branch out at Yosemite next week. I'm hoping to get some keepers. hawk65

Off hand I'd say IQ of H5 is better!

Hawk,

You are justly proud of your macro shots--really excellent! If you intend to stay with macro I don't see any advantage to going with a new camera; however, if you intend

to extend your reach to wildlife then a HX100v is probably a good idea..Review some of Hutchman's shots with both cameras..His extreme telephoto shots are definitely better with the HX100v than with an H5 and teleconvertor--my opinion!
