elph300 wideangle distortion

I'm pretty happy with the photos from my elph300HS. On a recent trip, I took many arms length group portraits at the 24mm focal length, and I'm not at all surprised by the distortion of torsos & faces evident in subjects close to the perimeter of the frame.

Can someone suggest easy to use software for slimming that distortion? Something that allows me to edit the edges without then creating distortion in the center-of-the-frame areas?

DxO Optics Pro has functions for just such an occasion, they call it "Volume anamorphosis"

If you have a G or S sieres camera, DxO will also cure other optical distortions automatically.

In the future, try to back up from your subjects as much as possible and zoom in for group shots.

Thanks for the lead on the software - appears to be just what I'm looking for.

(I couldn't really back up any ... I took the photos with the camera mounted on an XShot telescopic extender, using the self-timer.)

Actually I raised the same question on beginner forum below and got some suggestions on the softwares including that one. I also have 300HS and HX7V. 300HS is actually better than HX7V in terms of this image stretching near corner at wide end.

Thanks. The info. that software with a "transform" function may be effective is interesting. Does Elements 9 have a "transform" function?
