Iron horses

Very interesting photos. People don't realize (and it may not apply to any of the engines in your photos) that steam locomotives were capable of surprising speeds long ago. In the 1920's they could exceed 90mph and in the 1930's some could exceed 120mph. Now that was moving!

Thanks Midwest, I appreciate your interest ;).. you are right about the speed of the steam powered engines, and we shouldn't forget all the mighty power that could be generated by those great locomotives :D ..

What a great series, Bruno. I love trains; riding them in particular, but looking at them too. We have a railroad museum not far from here in Sacramento. As Jack mentioned, our old-timers don't look as interesting as these.

Bruno, #2 is my favorite.- Great stuff. I never saw an old locomotive (only in movies) and I think they are incredibles :0 . I love the way you used the light to take the second picture.-
Congratulations mate :)

I was expecting to see bronze horse statues. :)

I like SB714 - the one that looks like it has a face.

Sorry Peg, no bronze horse statues ;)... appreciate your commenting, I like your choice of SB714, "cabrio" version, perfect for the season (just kidding).. wishing you a Happy fourth of July :D ..

Brilliant set Bruno, image 5 with the face is wonderful. All that real machinery is enough to get anyone’s testosterone flooding the brain, you’ve captured these superbly. Kindest regards mate. :D

Thanks for your kind words, Digby.. I'm very glad you like the "old stem" series - the locomotive at fifth shot was build in 1861(!) and still going strong ;) (almost like that old Johnnie Walker commercial LOL)..

Best regards mate, :D
