Does it really perform the magic as shown on his website? or am I better off with NC3 + Photosohp USM?? Please advice thanks.

Jack

It does pretty much what Fred claims it does. However, please be aware that the degree of sharpening of Fred's action (and any other "smart" sharpening technique) is going to depend a lot on the picture you start with. Bright, contrasty subjects will sharpen better.

Also, keep in mind that Fred's actions are nothing more than Photoshop actions that you can do yourself if you know all the steps. There are several tutorials on the web to tell you how you can do the same sort of sharpening that Fred does.

Fred's actions are cheap though. If you don't have time to learn or just want a quick jumpstart why not buy it. He has another sharpening action that is worth checking out also.

I suggest you buy it. There are pictures where this is the only thing that works, there are others where this is useless but in some cases is really indispensable.

thx for ur suggestion.. i'm seriously thinking about it.. i think in lots photos USM just doesn't cut it, somehow I do feel using NC3 + Normal Sharpening + Normal Noise Removal = better combo than PS7 USM providing less artifacts and less noise. I think i'm gonna give FM CS Pro a try. thanks again. but... hgmmmmm r u kind enough to mail me a copy? lol...
