Ixus V3 corrupt pics

My 256 Crucial card corrupts about 8% of all pics. I can't find what the common problem is. My 128 has worked fine 100% of the time and I have now taken over 350 pictures.

I phoned Crucial 2 weeks ago and they said they had not had any problems reported. Having seen the posts on this forum I will now be returning the card. Although I suspect the problem is more to do with the camera as the card works fine in my mp3 player.
Ixus V3 corrupt pics, using 256MB Crucial CompactFlash card,
formatted inside camera. Using WindowsXP in the new Picture
Transfer mode.

The pictures are OK when taken, and when reviewed, but some time
later appear corrupted.

Anyone else suffering? Any ideas on how to fix?

Richard.
I have the IXUS v3 / s230 and didn't have any problems, until I
bought a 128MB CRUCIAL CF card, and I have had a few corrupt pics
since using it.

Seems like "Crucial" is a recurring theme here. The things have a
lifetima guarantee, maybe it's time to use it

I cant replicate these problems with my Transcent 256mb CF and V3.

Crucial sounds like its the common denominator!

Sigh, looks like I will have to return my Crucial 256MB CF card, I have lost a lot of pictures now, and am getting annoyed.

Not sure I want to risk Crucial again, even if 128MB seems to work. The Kingston CF 256 card is significantly more expensive, any problems with that?

Go for Lexar cards, they seem to be the top notch ones. Kensington seems to overprice their stuff, IMO.

Just spoke to Canon Tech Support line, they say that sometimes other CF cards are not compatible, and that Canon only recommends their own brand of CF or Sandisk CF.

I too had a problem with the corrupt picture when I used my "free with the camera (nice seller, wasn't he?)" I/O Data 128MB CF. Never had any problem with the 16MB "in the package" Canon CF (by Sandisk)

Tried with my other CF, Sandisk 128MB and Sandisk 256MB, and such problem is gone.
