Police Arrest Woman For Videotaping Them From Her Property

The police internal investigations are more like the catholic church relocating their pedophile priests and telling the cops "we'll handle it".

While all and good.... What are you guys actually doing to help curb actions such as this? Do you guys have groups you belong to or do you just post stuff?

snake where you live in the US is it bad or is law enforcement ok? Dave what about you, is there something within the state/city you live in that can be used to follow by example?

Im just curious if most of you are armchair quarterbacks or you really care and do something about it and if so what?

Maybe there are ideas and such that you guys have in your part of the US that can be used in other parts? I mean not all police/law enforcement can be bad?

The official charge now is "obstructing governmental administration", not "making an officer uncomfortable".

http://www.whec.com/news/stories/s2173466.shtml

Doesn't look good for the Rochester police, especially since they can be seen doing what can be construed as "intimidation and harassment" by ticketing the cars of people attending the community meeting about this. Looks like even when the situation is sensitive, the Rochester police don't care about escalating it, just as the cop in the video did. Now it's dragging the entire community into it.
Surely the charges will be dropped. The DA can't be that stupid.
Mz Good should be eventually getting a nice payday out of this.
Not likely. Anyone ever try suing a city? In the unlikely event that government courts find the city at fault, they can say she has no actual damages other than legal fees which she could have avoided spending. Cash awards for this type of travesty are extremely rare.

Looks like you were completely wrong and out to lunch. Not only have the charges been dropped....the police department has issued an apology, and is condunction an internal investigation as to inappropriate conduct.

And you made excuses for these fools???
These post get more idiotic every time. It amazes me how many people hate the police and then wonder why might get treated poorly. I spoke to a guy yesterday who is now suing the police after he feels he was treated poorly following a DUI arrest. He refused the breathalyzer and was taken into the station. That's the law! Follow it and there are no issues. You people who posses this anti-cop attitude need to wake up. These guys risk their lives everyday. They have families too just like you and then they still put their butts on the line for YOU! Maybe you should just say thanks and shut the heck up. What has any of you done for your fellow man on a daily basis? What risks do you take to save a life or protect an average citizen or defend a law? Most of you would run and hide under certain conditions that these men and women thrive under. Please shut up about these isolated innocents. There are bad police like there are bad citizens...get over it and move on, but stop wasting time and space crying about the injustices. I've managed to live 45 years and have been all over the world without a single issue dealing with any law enforcement. Why is that? Simple, I don't break the law and I know how to be respectful. This ain't rocket science folk.

Cash awards for this type of thing are quite frequent. Many have been awarded thousands of dollars even for just being detained.

I can post articles from the New York Times (with a cute picture of me) attending community/Police meetings which forced the Police to clean out the crack dealers in my neighborhood.

Mind you, I was also a part of a Community Watch which did this on our own, at considerable personal risk I might add.

There was also a television appearance I and neighbors made on New York One over the same issue.

But this is not a story about Police inaction, it's a story about Police abuse, first the actions of one out of control Cop, and then the organised abuse perpetrated by the organization as a whole. I'm far more angry about the organised part than I am about the one jerk who got out of line.

Being arrested in front of your neighbors is a humiliating expereince. Moreover, this woman has spent considerable time fighting these charges. And no doubt she has recieved threats. Indeed her home was broken into an the offending iPod was stolen.

"Damages" consist of more than a monetary figure. How much money repairs a reputation? Take you for instance. You've already called her a Cop hater, and a criminal.

She's good for at least 25K, maybe more. :)

I applaud you then especially for recognizing the "one" issue. I have no comment on the 12inch deal. Someone should roast for that stupidity.
