Still Amaz1ng - KM Z1 - Fashion / Model Photo

With keeping ISO on 200, the almost ten year old and only just 3.2 MP the KM Z1
make a decent pictures. No PP
I recently dusted down my Z1 and tried it again. I had very fond memories of it and it doesn't disappoint even now. Very good (slightly oversaturated) colour and very low shadow noise at ISO 50 or 100. It also suits my grip and find (as I did back in the time) I can hand hold it better than any camera before or since (1/8 sec at wide, 1/60 at full zoom).

I've started using it regularly again. It's up against a Sony NEX3, an Olympus EP-L1,a Canon SX30IS, and an old KM A200, and still holds its own for sheer fun and colour rendition! Am I mad? Maybe!

I don't find the 3mp a limitation provided you compose well and so don't need to crop. Shadows can be easily pulled up in p/p without noise, something difficult to do with a lot of modern cams.

Have you ever considered upgrading to the Z5 or Z6? The Z5 was reported to have better colours than the Z6, while the Z6 has more megapixels. Thye often go for peanuts on Ebay.
I've got to admit my Z6 always felt very nice holding it.
Regards,
Renato

I probably did consider it at the time ;-) You might laugh, but I've also got an Xg (3mp) of the same vintage, and have started carrying that around with me instead of the Panasonic FP-3 (14mp) I recently purchased for the purpose. The styling attracts favourable comments and the 1.5" LCD attracts laughs! Pictures, if not resolution, are better than the modern cam.

It's such a shame KM sold out. They (well, Minolta at least) were such an innovative company.

Thank You Pete,

I want to upgrade and my choices will be the one that you have owned. And now a will cancel it.

I 've try PL-1 , but i feel something "missing" , especially the color rendition ..
