Hi guys....

wich one should i buy.....

Nikon D100 w/ 24-85 AF-S

or

Canon D60 w/ 28-135 IS

Play with both of them and pick the one that feels more intuitive. You really can't go wrong with either of them.

Hi!

There's really no need to be rude to people, even if they ask questions that some or many may feel are stupid. This is not the Pro forum so my understanding is that everyone is welcome here, as long as they follow the general rules.

I guess what you're really saying is that this is a question that shouldn't have to be asked, sinced there's alreay tons of information in here to answer it. Agreed.

I'm quite sure that I've asked a few questions that many have found stupid. I've been lucky enough to receive polite and helpful answers. That's a luxury that we could and should grant all newcomers!

Absolutely no offence intended!

Sorry...

My lst post was uncalled for. But seriously, this topic has been done to death on these forums the past few months. Do a search for "D100 ro D60" on this and the Nikon Forum and you'll get a lot of info to assist with your homework.

Bottom line..they are both GREAT cameras. I really wanted a D60, but got a good deal on a D100 and saved a few hundred bucks over what a D60 was going to cost. DO I regret my decision? Nah! But I still hang out on both forums!

Cheers,
Simon

I am also trying to decide. Since Canon lowered prices here in Sweden those combos are about equal in price. Min line of thinking is:

Canon is a little bit sharper, at least in jpegs. Probably better overall image quality in good light.

On the other hand colors on some pictures seem too saturated and warm (I was thinking of the "bridge pictures" in the review samples, look at the sky)
Nikon has better low light capabilities (ISO 1600-6400)

Since I like available light photography i probably go with the Nikon (I have one on order), but I havent decided 100 percent yet

If you have lenses for either camera, you might lean that way. If you don't, I think the Canon has the edge with available IS lenses and perhaps a little cheaper on the prices of lens.

We all went to the same decition, and the best answer is, Go by a system, if you have Nikon lenses go Nikon, or either way, the are BOTH excelent cameras

Hi,

I don't understand the question? There must be more than that to your question, are you just going to buy what I say to buy? I don't think so.

So what are you really asking? Which one is better? For that, you need to read for a while in both forums and see what you will deal with in each camera. Then if you have a question you can ask about something specific. I can't chew your food for you and I can't tell you which camera is better. Ever hear of Ford or Chevy? Which one is better?

But just in case, buy the Canon with the 28-135 lens. You will be miles ahead.
