try Brian, the name of the "Magic Roundabout" snail. Children's programme from 1970's, originally French.
--VERY nice shot you got there! I've been thinking about trying this with my 995, though I can't imaging getting a result this nice. What should I name him?
If you right click on the photo, there is an option to save it as
background on your computer, plus other options. It automatically
becomes your deskbop background.
You probably should get the owner's permission first, but if you
are not using it for commercial purposes, I don't know if that is
necessary.
Anyone out there have any ideas about that?.>

--There is no commercial purpose on the shot.
I understand what you are saying about the owner's permission but
If Richard emailed me the pic i would have considered that i could
use it for the purpose shown on previous post.
(Maybe with the original I could crop the snail and enlarge to fill
the monitor)

great shot...!
As for the rights to use it - i see no problem for personal use,
because by publishing it on the net - he pretty much states it can
be used for that anyway - as long as it isnt modified without his
consent, or used for comercial purposes - and as long as his name
is always attributed to it - it should be ok...unless otherwise
stated with the picture...

This needs some work to clean it up. I did a Fred Miranda filter
(ISO200 Normal+ES) first and then played with brightness and
contrast. If you'd like that version, let me know. Oh, my
goodness. It looks like he's even smiling!
