Post your u 4/3 photos of wild squirrels here. I am facinated by these creatures which I find simultaneously endearing and replusive (look at the face closely-somwhat Satanic?). In any event, they are good practice for sports and wildlife photography.

I will get us started with some recent photos. Lens type, settings etc. will be appreciated. All hand held

Super cheap "Five Star" 70-200mm Nikon F mount zoom (shot at f/11, f/16?):

And the squirreliest one of them all!

I don't think it was safe to get so close to that last one! Here are several I have already in my gallery.

Here's a few of one of the little critters raiding the bird feeder. The evidence is all over its face. All shot handheld with G1 and 100-300.

They're little monsters alright, and they don't like being chased out of the bird feeders. Wanda's had some good battles with them, very entertaining to watch.

Our cat caught one the other day, they're unusual here in west TN. Managed to get him to release it and it recovered and ran away - now I'm sure they come out only at night and I haven't been able to get any pictures of them! Although they are both basically "rats" - tree rats and ground rats - the chipmunks are cuter!

scads of them here in Ontario, they run around in the daytime. Lots of squirrels too, just haven't focused on them yet.

Keep practicing - eventually you'll come to learn how to obtain more than just common snapshots, if you really care and put some effort into it. You might pick up some tips from the other messages that hold images that appear to have been taken by photographers of some experience and skill.

Well, I duno.

Anyway, try to get down at eye level rather than shooting down on them.

Then post some more!
