First, let me congradulate the winner MFC who posted a strong / poplular showing in this challenge with his wonderful images!! You are one very talented photographer, as are many of the other participants of this challenge. It's in your hands MFC... I'm sure you'll come up with a great challenge subject/ theme !

I also want to thank all of you for allowing me the latitude (in the way of cooperation) to make this challenge slightly different by asking for not only positive comments, but constructive criticism. I know for a fact that this was a learning experience for some, just by the repost of images that were tweaked after taking some of our comments into consideration.

I hope this was as much fun for all of you as it was for me?

Have a happy Turkey day everyone and remember.......
don't eat th skin, who needs it ? lol

Enough rant.........

Thanks, Mark, for all your efforts…you did a great job hosting. Thanks too for a theme idea I really enjoyed working with. Congratulations to all the placements…as usual, I’m always impressed with the unique ideas and images. I provided some basic techniques along with my images to reveal the not-so-fancy props I used in trying to achieve certain effects. I hope someone will try something new or different because of it. Believe me, for each entry I submit, there are many trial-and -error shots to sift through …but I really enjoy it and have great fun with it. Thanks to those who appreciated any of my images…and for your votes of approval.

I will post the new Challenge topic very soon after posting this response …only because the upcoming holiday (for many) may afford some unique photo opportunities for Challenge 31.
Thanks again everybody,
Mike Callahan (MFC)

Congratulations, Mike -- as usual you wowed us with your perspectives.

And thanks again to MarkJ! It was fun and a great experience to once again be challenged by something we may not normally choose to shoot. My only disappointment was that this wasn't a challenge that would run over the Thanksgiving holiday -- a time when we, in the US, celebrate FOOD!

Good work, everyone and happy Thanksgiving to all :)

Well, you have a point there but, HOW lojng can a challenge go ? I mean, we had two weekends as it was. :-)

Besides, if we went into the Tday holiday, many would not be able to take the time to stop and take photographs for a STF challenge when they really need to spend time with their families, right ?

And, I'm glad you enjoyed this as much as I did !

Now, it's MFC's turn to make the Tday holiday a chance to work on challenge photos.... if he dares!! :-)

Would you be kind enough to go into the root gallery and make YOUR winning image the representative image for Challenge 30, please?

I did everything else and can't figure that one out.

I guess that was MY last challenge hah hah

Congratulations, a well deserved victory for a stunning image.

I very much appreciate your explanation of the props used, really adds to the learning.

Congratulations, Mike -- a win very well deserved! The moment I saw it, I knew that would be the winner. I also knew it was yours! Thank you for the info on props; that really helps give me ideas since I don't have any fancy things around here to work with (found myself wanting to get a halogen light, although I'm not exactly sure what one looks like :-)).
