I am as upset about the high price of the SD1 as anyone. But, let's move on. How about some weekend pics for this week. Remember to limit you post to 3 photos and as always any Sigma camera is eligible. Please give your entry a title so that comments can be properly directed.(as please, no photos of sour grapes, unless I can post first ;O).) For now let's forget the SD1 and go out and shoot some photo with our 'old' hardware and have some fun.

I went to a local park this morning and shot a few photos of geese and gooslings. THe white pelicans were gone (at least not is sight this morning). There were about 12 to 15 gosslings running around and pecking at the grass. The parent geese made sure I did not get too close. Shot with my old SD14 and the 150-500 mmOS lens.

Wow those are great Felix: There seems to be magic in the early morning air, I must try it sometime ;O). Thanks for sharing and I doubt the SD! could have done better.

Felix, I am generally not fond of flower photography

But .... thanx for reminding me that some flower photography I do like :)

There is a German lady. Either in this forum or in the Pentax forum, that takes images like this, or even better actually :) I like her flower pictures also.

This delicate light and colors are exquisite.

I finally managed to do something useful... gave the dog a bath and we took her for a walk in Green Spring Gardens park. I now have a step up ring (72 to 77mm) for the 17-70mm OS so I could try out one of my polarizers (this was a Tiffen) on the 17-70mm OS. The day was bright enough... and breezes still enough that I could shoot the requisite slow shutter speeds.

The polarizer makes all the photos look rather funky in color; but that's appropriate to our mood... in a funk....

PS: Even my non-photog husband expressed some (mild) profanity yesterday when he heard the announced price... FWIW.
Best regards, Sandy

Here is another shot from this morning at the park where I was shooting the geese. The amount of green was incredible. We had almost no moisture during fall and winter, but have more that made up for it this spring. The result is copious green and I love it. You can see a few of the geese in the middle ground in front of the lake. Shot with the SD14 and 20 mm F:1.8 lens.
