Hi there, I was just wondering if anybody has any idea where I can get hold of a TC-20E III that's in stock somewhere in the UK? Jacobs charge £409, Jessops £419, so somewhere in that region would be great (WarehouseExpress etc charge around £450) - but nowhere has them in stock that I can see? If anybody knows, please give me a heads up. Thanks!

Thanks guys - yeah I would have to pay duty unfortunately, so it wouldn't be worth it - and Grays is good, I've bought from them before, but yeah £460 is steep if there is any chance of avoiding it (though of course it's better than not having it at all!)

Thanks again :)

Ah brilliant, thank you - now that 'go to f8' comment makes me wonder whether it would be worth just buying the 1.7x instead. I am using it on a 70-200 VRII, and am thinking that the difference between 340 and 400mm might be so negligible that it's not really worth the extra...

Hi,

I have found that at f/5.6 on my Vr II 70-200mm, it is soft. It needs a bit more DOF. I think its a great extender.

I tried it with the 105 Macro... interesting!!!

This little spider is actually tiny and transparent. He was floating in mid air. I am by no means a great macro photographer but its pretty impressive with 210mm macro.

For me the difficulty with import duty or tax is that DHL or the Postman turn up on the door step without warning, and demand cash there and then (and they add on their by no means small fee for collecting it).

Digital Rev in Hong Kong for one have an arrangement which allows them to collect the tax in advance, so that there is nothing to pay on delivery, which speeds things up a day, as well as saving the fees to payment.

I think I paid DigitalRev £430 in total for my TC2E II, which I use with the 70-200 VR II, and I have to say that other than the weight of the combo, I'm dead chuffed with it. AF, under the tree-canopy is swift.

Bought mine on Thursday and they still had some in stock.

Also I have a parallel post to this showing test images with the 70-200VRI + TC-20E (mark II and mark III) for comparison. It would be worth you having a look if you are still undecided.

F7.1 is where the optical quality really starts to shine.
